The presentation of the study took place on 15 November 2021 and focused on the following topics:
- An overview of the current state of technology to power heavy-duty vehicles, including battery electric trucks, fuel cell electric trucks, liquefied natural gas, biofuels, e-fuels and electric road systems, and an assessment of their existing infrastructure.
- An assessment of the Commission’s proposal for the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation, comparing its level of ambition in terms recharging/refueling facilities with estimated needs.
- Policy recommendations for the design of the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation
The presentation was followed by questions from the Members and a stimulating debate.
