Our mission is to provide expertise for the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) within the European Parliament. AGRI is responsible for scrutinising the European Commission’s work on agricultural policy. This mainly involves preparing reports for legislative proposals, falling under the co-decision procedure between Parliament and the Council, for adoption in plenary.
The powers and responsibilities of the AGRI Committee include the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), animal health and welfare, plant health, agricultural products quality, forestry and agroforestry.
