[Digest] Study Presentation: Development of milk production in the EU after the end of milk quotas

The presentation of the study took place on 7 December 2023 and focused on the following topics:

• The structural changes and the challenges and opportunities for the milk sector in a post-quota context.
• The dynamics of the sector seen from a variety of angles, including production and farm structures, price volatility, export markets, consumer preferences, generational renewal and environmental concerns.
• Operational recommendations regarding the various challenges facing the dairy sector.

The presentation was followed by questions from the Members which unleashed a stimulating debate on the prospects of the EU milk sector.
