The presentation took place on the 6th May 2026 within the meeting of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.
It focused on the main findings of the study and especially on:
- The comparison between current and proposed MFF, both as regards changes in legislation and funding for social spending.
- The implications of the proposed performance framework and governance changes.
- The impacts of the proposals for the European Pillar of Social Rights.
- The implications for the role of the European Parliament.
The presentation included the discussion of a set of recommendations for the European Parliament and especially for the EMPL committee.
It was followed by questions from the Members and a stimulating debate, including reactions from the Commission.
