[Digest] Policy options for strengthening the competitiveness of the EU fisheries and aquaculture sector

The presentation of the study took place on 20 March 2024, and mainly focused on:

• Conceptual aspects of competitiveness
• Evolution of EU’s self-sufficiency for fisheries & aquaculture products (FAPs)
• Extra-EU imports of FAPs
• Results of the 4 Case studies
• Factors affecting competitiveness of the fisheries and aquaculture sector
• Policy recommendations

The presentation was followed by an interesting exchange with Members of the PECH Committee and European Commission representatives of DG MARE.
