[Digest] Trends, challenges and opportunities in the EU transport labour market

The presentation of the study took place on 20 March 2024 and focused on the following topics:

• Overview of major trends in EU transport labour market in different transport modes;
• Main challenges and opportunities in the sector’s labour market resulting from digitalisation, automation and transport related decarbonisation policy; best practices.
• Policy recommendations to meet the challenges related to labour shortage, attractiveness of working conditions, skills gap and just transition, and based on the identified

The presentation was followed by questions from the Members and a stimulating debate where the challenges of attracting female and young workers into the sector, improving working conditions and remuneration, training to meet the skill needs in the changing environment, and the role of social dialogue in addressing these issues were discussed.
