The workshop took place on 14 February 2024 and focused on the following topics:
- The changing postal market and how it impacts the regulatory framework
- Business models for postal and delivery services
- Experiences and challenges for national postal regulatory authorities
- Future scenarios for the postal sector in 2040
The presentations looked at trends and future scenarios for postal and parcel delivery services, the changes and challenges they are confronted with, the impacts on and suitability of the exiting regulatory framework and sustainability issues.
The presentation was followed by questions from the Members and a stimulating debate during which, among others, issues related to coverage of rural areas, decarbonisation of services within the context of a booming e-Commerce, and consumers’ behaviors, were discussed.
