Our mission is to provide expertise for the Committee on Culture and Education within the European Parliament. The Committee is responsible for all the cultural aspects of the Union such as the dissemination of culture, cultural heritage, cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as for education, audiovisual policy, information and media policy, the cultural and educational aspects of the information society, youth and sports.
In that regard, the Committee is responsible for adoption of new laws and for supervision of the Union’s programmes (‘Erasmus +’, ‘Creative Europe’ and ‘European Solidarity Corps’), on equal footing with the Member States governments (the Council). This mainly involves preparing reports for legislative proposals, but also adopting own-initiative reports, organising hearings with experts and scrutinising the other EU bodies and institutions.
