Subject of contract:
Deliver a study on “The Right to Stay: Young Women in the EU’s Remote and Rural Areas”

This study will examine the obstacles young women encounter in the EU’s remote and rural regions and how demographic shifts influence their economic, social, and political participation. Drawing on quantitative data and various regional case studies, it will assess whether EU Cohesion Policy effectively supports gender-inclusive rural development. The study will further identify best practices from successful regional and local initiatives aimed at mitigating and preventing these challenges faced by young women in remote and rural areas. Findings aim to inform policy improvements within Cohesion Policy to strengthen support for female participation in remote and rural areas. The study also feeds into the upcoming Commission strategy on the ‘Right to Stay’ in 2027.

Minimum requirements: team of minimum 4 experts with sound educational/professional qualifications and experience that are clearly relevant to gender equality and Cohesion Policy Funds.
