The presentation of the study on The aviation and maritime sectors and the EU ETS – challenges and impacts took place on 28 October 2021 and focused on the following topics:

• Brief overview of the EC proposal for aviation and maritime shipping.
• Potential implementation issues for the aviation and maritime sectors.
• Foreseeable socio-economic effects, including cost, competition and employment impacts.
• Actions needed to mitigate the unwanted potential negative effects on the transport sector.

The presentation was followed by questions from the Members and a stimulating debate.
