[Digest] Role of the longevity economy in the tourism sector

The presentation of the study took place on 29 January 2025 and focused on the following topics:

• The overview of silver tourism in the EU, detailing the sector’s current state and potential growth opportunities;
• A conceptual framework that categorizes six key areas within silver tourism: wellness tourism, accessible and medical tourism, international retirement migration (IRM), multi-generational, smart tourism;
• The assessment of specific challenges and opportunities within each key area, followed by targeted recommendations.

The presentation was followed by questions from the Members and a stimulating debate.
