Her field of expertise is maritime shipping with the focus on policy measures for the reduction of GHG emissions and air pollution. For the assessment of alternative policy options\, she can combine her economic expertise with her technological and institutional knowledge. Methodology-wise\, Dagmar is trained to do qualitative as well as quantitative analyses. With more than ten years of experience in the field\, she has contributed to a multitude of studies\, commissioned by various clients such as the IMO\, the European Commission\, national ministries\, ports\, sector companies/associations\, and environmental NGOs. The Branch is implementing multilateral transport and trade facilitation capacity building programmes\, as well as regional and national projects in Africa\, Asia and the Pacific\, and Latin America and the Caribbean.\nJan is co-author and coordinator of the annual UNCTAD Review of Maritime Transport\, created and co-edits the quarterly UNCTAD Transport and Trade Facilitation Newsletter\, and initiated the UNCTAD Maritime Country Profiles and the annual Liner Shipping Connectivity Index.\nPreviously\, Jan spent six years with the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago de Chile\, and two years with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London and Santiago. Prior to this\, he held part time positions as assistant professor\, import-export agent\, seafarer\, translator\, and consultant. For eight years\, he also worked part time for the family tramp shipping business Hoffmann Shipping\, based in Horneburg\, Germany\, with a tweendecker registered in St. Johns\, Antigua and Barbuda.\nJan has studied in Germany\, United Kingdom\, and Spain\, and holds a doctorate degree in Economics from the University of Hamburg. His work has resulted in numerous UN and peer reviewed publications\, lectures\, technical missions\, data bases\, and electronic newsletters. Jan is member of AJSL\, CPI\, IJSTL\, INCU\, JST\, MEL\, MPM\, and the Propeller Club of Geneva. From 2014 to 2018\, Jan was president of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME). Prior to this\, she was working for the University of West London and before that for EUROCONTROL – the International Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation based in Brussels.\nMarina is the Chief Editorial Officer for the Journal of Air Transport Studies\, as well as an associate editor of the Journal of Airspace Technology and Management\, while she also sits on the editorial board for the International Journal of Sustainable Aviation. She is also a member of the German Aviation Research Society and the Hellenic Aviation Society. Marina is an executive advisory board member of the European Aviation Conference (EAC) which combines commercial and academic entities and the Aviation Management and Economics Conference. She is also part of the TUD COST Action Air Transport and Regional Development (ATARD) and the CA COST Action for advancing effective institutional models towards cohesive teaching\, learning\, research and writing development. She also regularly acts as an expert evaluator for the European Commission.\nHer research papers have been published in peer-reviewed prestigious academic journals including Annals of Tourism Research; Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice; Journal of Cleaner Production Her research interest primarily focuses on Aviation Governance and Policy\, Sustainable Aviation\, Performance Regulation\, Air Navigation Service Providers\, Air Traffic Management/Control issues. In 2017\, she won the distinguished accolade of ‘Best Research’ paper from the European Aviation Conference\, which was sponsored by Ashgate Publishing (Taylor & Francis Group) for her paper on EU ETS. Marina is also a regular reviewer for a number of esteemed academic journals. Until 2008\, he conducted research on transport infrastructure provision and air and coach transport economics at the Institute of Transport Economics (Muenster). In his doctoral thesis\, Sven analysed the potential of secondary airports in long haul air transport. From 2008\, Sven has been responsible for several research projects\, studies and academic papers at the Institute of Air Transport and Airport Research at the German Aerospace Center (DLR).\nKey projects managed by him include assessments of demand forecasts for Muenster/Osnabrueck Airport during the court case on a planned runway extension; coordination of the EU FP7 project TEAM_Play\, which created a pan-European tool suite for the assessment of environmental aviation policies and their impacts on aviation development; quantitative approaches to assess the market power of European airports\, the competitive position of European and North American airlines\, and the scope for connections between low cost carriers in Europe; environmental and economic impact assessments\, e.g. of the EU emission trading system (ETS) for aviation and of the European and German business aviation sectors; and the assessment of employment effects and wider economic benefits stemming from the business aviation sector. Recent projects dealt with implementation strategies for synthetic fuels in aviation\, and with the design and implementation of ICAO’s CORSIA offsetting scheme.
