This study would help inform Members of European Parliament of different options and tools that the European Commission (EC) will propose in its announced Communication on 'Modernising and iymplifying the Common Agricultural Policy' of 29 November 2017. It should provide an overview of the state-of-art of the present CAP, discuss the main drivers and challenges of the next CAP reform post 2020, place the EC Communication of 29 November 2017 in the context of the current strategic debates on the future of the CAP, compare the Commission's options to the most relevant contributions on the future of the CAP already published, and evaluate the tools proposed by the EC Communication to deal the future challenges of the EU agriculture. Place of delivery: Brussels Specific conditions: 1) Deliver and present a study to the MEPs of the AGRI Committee of around 60 pages (without annexes) in good time in order to support the own-initiative report that EP AGRI Committee is expected to draw up in 2018 (May-June 2018, 90 calendar days after award); 2) deliver a slide-based presentation suitable for a twenty-minute summary of the main findings and recommendations arising from the research; 3) be writen in plain English rather than in an academic or technical/professional style, without jargon, understandable by a lay-person without much prior knowledge of the sector; 4) minimum selection criteria: propose a team of experts with sound professional experience and a proven publishing record, including a project leader with at least 7 years of relevant experience. .
